Is her Mr. Right all WRONG?
Q: I recently met the most wonderful man about 6wks ago. He’s married, but has a legal separation. My older girlfriends (those in their 30s) are telling me I should leave him alone until he finalizes his divorce. What’s the difference? I mean, since he’s not living with his wife and there’s “intent” to end the marriage, I think its okay to pursue things for now. SC what do you think?

A: SKRRRRRCK, stop the truck Bel Air! I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you that Married is Married. Please be reminded that a separated man is still a MARRIED man that should be viewed as off-limits. On any given Sunday this man can decide to reconcile with his wife. He’s free to make that decision w/o taking your feelings into consideration, so you may end up feeling jilted, played or used. I agree with your girls. Far too many times I’ve seen women in similar situations who ultimately ended up wasting years on someone who was off-limits from the “get go.” So since you asked, I’m telling you to cool things off a bit, cause if this man is really your “Mister Right” he’ll take the necessary steps to free himself so he can explore a possible future with you. Make him come correct so he knows early on that you hold yourself to a higher standard; and if he loses interest based on your decision then you have your answer.
